Hi Troy - it's a good idea, but I've tried something like this before with poor results. Ultimately we're asking guys to choose between their fantasy cars and their reality cars. It's like having to choose between two girls: the "naughty girl" mom told you never to date vs. the good girl that would be a great mom to your kids Often we have a tough time making the right decision! Plus, you might not know it based on the forum, but we've already put in a good deal of effort (behind the curtain) getting next season ready for a sportscar race. I've been scheduling fun-runs during the off weeks (you were at one last weekend-thank you!), I'd be happy to schedule some more based on the cars you and Fonz suggested (Mx-5, Jetta, Mustang, Kia, Skippy, etc...) Last thing I would say ... we had a pretty great practice session last night IMO. We had 5 setups shared last night on the server, we met a few new drivers whom I have sent invitations to, I also learned a lot following William Lawrence for a couple laps and I improved my laptimes dramatically. I honestly believe in my post above - I think the easiest way to improve the quality of the league (not to say that it's bad now - I think many of us ex-NAGP guys will say it's better than when we left there) is for guys to be more engaged in the practices, forums, etc...

Money is not the panacea. I have talked with money league owners, and they deal with the same thing, unless the money gets too big, then they deal with a whole other set of problems. It is like that guy who plays in five fantasy football leagues, he will bail on four of them before the season ends so he can concentrate on winning one pot.
Also, drivers won't join a league that doesn't use the car they want to drive. Building an MX league with the hopes of graduating to a faster car, as a group, will not happen. What will happen is we will have a bunch of MX drivers who want to continue driving the MX. Fast tracking on iRacing has proven that drivers don't care if they can drive the car, it is the one they want to drive.
There is a huge pool of drivers out there that want to join in online racing leagues, but I think we forget how intimidating joining a league for the first time can be. Leagues have history, paints, rules, inside jokes, all new and hitting you at once. Make no mistake, there are a lot of first time sim racers that have joined iRacing. Heck, it is my first online race experience aside form PS3 garbage. Having a league reach out to them, their first league at that, creates a huge impression on them. It validates them, and gives them an instant home. This, to me, is how you create lifetime loyalty.

I'll second that, Joe. iRacing was my first online racing experience and I found it quite intimidating at first, but after much private testing I felt comfortable enough to do some official races(1st one Indy 500). Soon after I decided to join a race server hosted by NAGP in the DP at Summit Point. Soon after that Ed sent me my first invite and the rest is history. I found great place to race in the gentleman racer fashion and never looked back. When NAGP joined forces with GRAsim it seemed a no brainer to join the crowd, here we've found another great bunch of guys to race with. As said in a previous post it is fun to race the same guys every week, and that familiarity helps one feel more comfortable in the group. I for one will be hanging around with you guys as long as you'll have me. Cheers.

hi all. just watched the pirelli world challenge gts race at cota. it involved camaro mustang and the kia. are these cars comparable in iracing? if so this could be an interesting mix. just a thought. also i agree it nice to run with the same folks everyweek. i have a good time in the v8 series even tho im in the back. i would most certainly join this group if it was something besides the dp. cheers bill

Thanks for the support guys!
Bill - yes - we are definitely running the GT3's next season. Starting with a few exhibition races during the next few weeks until our season opener on April 4th.
As for the camaro/mustang/kia - they're not comparable to my knowledge which I agree is too bad (although the Class B NASCAR Camaro and Mustang are).
I'll have some more information about the exhibition races and next season post on our forums within the next 24 hours ... so stay tuned!

Naughty girl, good girl? I'm so confused. OK, not on topic. Just wanted to let you know I am reading posts about car choices, but my input won't help a bit. (DW12, Star Mazda, HPD.) See what I mean? As always I'll race whatever we come up with.
