A. DRIVERS MEETING: Before the qualifying session, the steward will hold a brief driver's meeting to review the rules and procedures of the event. All drivers will be asked to pit their cars prior to the meeting to ensure 100% attention is given to the steward. Failure to comply may result in a penalty at the steward's discretion. B. STARTING PROCEDURES: Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the green-flag rules for this event: - Once all drivers are on the grid, the pace car will lead the field around the track and exit the course as late as possible to enter pit lane.
- It is not required that drivers form into a single file line, but please use your judgement to determine when it's appropriate.
- After the pace car enters the pit lane, pole position has responsibility for pacing the field until the green flag.
- At this time, prior to the green flag being displayed, the leader can either maintain the current pace, or begin accelerating. However, the leader cannot slow down as this may cause an accident further back in the formation lap.
- As the front row of cars approach the start/finish line, the green flag will be displayed.
- Once the green flag has been shown, the race has begun and drivers are permitted to pass cars at this time.
C. HOW TO JOIN THE RACE SERVER: This event will be listed in the "HOSTED" section of the iRacing dashboard. Although practice servers are public and not secured, a password is required to enter official race events. D. CUSTOM CAR PAINTS ON IRACING: Trading Paints is the software that allows you to load custom car paints for your car, as well as see the custom paints used by other members. If you're not already using Trading Paints, you can install and setup the software easily by setting up an account and downloading the software at : www.TradingPaints.com. E. TEAMSPEAK CHAT SERVER: GRA member James Lamb has graciously donated the use of his TeamSpeak Server. Please feel free to use the server during this event for pre- and post-race chat. - IP Address: ts01-ga.aspnix.com:2002

Will this be a day or night race? Please make it a night race. There are very few tracks with a night version and this is a good one.

Weather settings say "afternoon", but I agree night is better here.
I think Daytona and Sebring should be the only night races, the tracks are set up for night races. Spa night time is just ridiculous.

I won't be able to make this race since I'm participating in the MOE 24 Hours of Spa. Looking forward to when the season starts though!

Sorry Paul - we'll miss you on the track.
Hi Pete and Troy - I hear what you guys are saying. I set this up as a day-race so that I can hold something in reserve to make our race on the 24th "unique". Otherwise, I think the two events (this pre-race, and our official race on the 24th) will feel too similar - know what I mean?

Apart from the GT3 series which is running daytime this week, Daytona seems to always run at night. A daytime race is a pleasant change.

Well I attempted to race tonight but didn't even get one lap in and my connection dropped, so reset the modem and get a "Could not connect to server" error message, rebooted the pc same error, logged out and back in and still get the error. I could however join the official WSC server. Went back to try and join the GRAsim server and get the same bloody error. By now an hour has gone by and I give up. My connection has been dropping the last couple of evenings, we either wait it out (10-15 min) or reset the modem and it comes back. I'll be calling my ISP tomorrow, don't want this happening tomorrow night!

Sorry Edward - that stinks! I hope you can get it sorted before we officially launch the series next weekend.
Pete - Thanks for joining the server and hopefully we'll see you for tomorrow's final fun-run. Unfortunately, I fell asleep putting the kids to bed and didn't get up until 40 minutes after session ended (good grief).
I'm hoping to have the league announcement ready for tomorrow, so we should be able to start accepting registrations very soon.
