During last night's test-day at Monza, it was suggested that instead of a standard format of 1.5 hour races every 2 weeks. Perhaps we should consider a shorter standard race (say one hour) with just a couple longer endurance events. If you're familiar with the Blancpain GT series, it's essentially the same format they run. Our ex-NAGP members may recall we used this format there too when we mixed sprint races with a separate "Endurance Cup". I took a minute to re-shuffle the schedule and it would look something like this: Dates

Fuel adjusted to ~75% for 40 minutes of driving. SPRINTS = 1 hour, with 1 required pit stop ENDURANCE = 1.5 hours or 2 hours? Multiple pit stops; bonus points earned at half way distance (e.g. 45:00 or 60:00 minutes on the clock) What do you think? If this looks good to you, how long should the endurance event be?

I much prefer this new proposed format than the previously one. I also like the track selection a whole lot more.

Thanks for the likes guys. I'm interested in hearing your opinions whether you agree/disagree with the proposal.
What do you think about the endurance race too? Is 2 hours too long?
We've got a few graphics, plus the sign up sheet "on hold" while we finalize this. So this is our last chance to make any format/track changes.

I also like it. as far as the endurance race, i would vote for a 1.5 hour long.I agree with Mario,if you do 2h races, i would suggest to start the race earlyer, like 8h30 EST,it's hard enough to focus for an hour race when we start at 9h20 EST,(must be to old, loll)so imagine 2h at that time

Looks great Ed, like the addition of Lime Rock. Brands GP? As far as the endurance goes, 2 hrs seems appropriate.

Ed whats the chance you could put the weather up for the Zolder race so we have some time to work on set as you know we are starting from scratch in the ruf and struggling with setups so i need all the time i can get to put something together,I'm sure i am not alone in this …again thanks for keeping this moving forward……..
also 2HRS says endurance to me love it………thats if i can maintain a pace that long..we shall see…..AARP member

I think since there is only 1 endurance race it should be 2 hours. I like the schedule!

I checked fuel on MOTEC after Monza and ~60% = 40 minutes. We can fine tune it this weekend at Sebring. SPRINTS = 1 hour, with 1 required pit stop ENDURANCE = Let's be conservative on this ... how about 2 events at 1.5 hours, with bonus points points at the 45:00 minute mark. I'm open to revisiting this if the signups look promising.

I like it Ed. My concern with 2hour enduros is the field getting smaller and people lapping by themselves for an extended amount of time. For now the 1.5 hour time is a good compromise.

Nooooo, the schedule before worked perfectly with my baja races lol. I'll have to miss two races now. Oh well.
Also I think 2 1.5 hour events is good.

Just like to race! Anything works for me! I know there was some concern about not allowing the leaders to just completely separate the field, I think that a mandatory caution at the admins choice or spectator who may be an official at there decision would decide to throw a mandatory caution whether it be 40% into the race or 75% into the race would take away the whole "We'll win it on fuel strategy" idea and allow more racing than strategy which in my book I believe racing should be racing and not won on strategy, yes, I understand strategy plays a roll, but lets face it we are in here to race not strategize. Races should be won due to the fastest driver without mistakes on any given day, not the crew chief calling an audible to win the race. It also allows the field to bunch back up, get any fixes or changes needed after realizing oh this setup is not gonna work compared to his setup. I believe in an enduro race it is gonna allow some welcomed things in a race that a lot of drivers would want to take advantage of realizing that, well your stuck with what you've got for the remainder, has happened a few times Im sure with many of us. Pit stops during this mandatory brings a lot of time to allow drivers to go in and make necessary changes to now be more competitive than they were prior to the caution. Now, I don't like mandatory cautions but I believe this would help bring the field back to racing in the second half of the enduro's and allow drivers to make changes to be more competitive.
