@ray - that's what I was thinking too, I think a few drivers have voiced their concern that we don't want to have an event that feels more like a time-trial rather than a race. I'd still love to do longer races, I just want to prove we have the drivers first before we commit to something like that. @paul - In 20/20 hindsight the original calendar worked for everyone, and I probably should have just stuck with it Let me check with the boss ("my wife") and see if we can bump my travel date for another week or two. In the end, I need to get these dates to Checkered Flag Interactive and see if they still work within their schedule. @chris - I've always wanted a "live steward" but it's hard to find someone who prefers to watch instead of race. For now, I'm hoping that two changes will create more racing: (a) shorter, tighter tracks that bunch the field up; and (b) mandatory pit stop to "reset" the race since drivers will likely take on fresh tires, or gamble on a fuel-only strategy.

Just like to race! Anything works for me! I know there was some concern about not allowing the leaders to just completely separate the field, I think that a mandatory caution at the admins choice or spectator who may be an official at there decision would decide to throw a mandatory caution whether it be 40% into the race or 75% into the race would take away the whole "We'll win it on fuel strategy" idea and allow more racing than strategy which in my book I believe racing should be racing and not won on strategy, yes, I understand strategy plays a roll, but lets face it we are in here to race not strategize. Races should be won due to the fastest driver without mistakes on any given day, not the crew chief calling an audible to win the race. It also allows the field to bunch back up, get any fixes or changes needed after realizing oh this setup is not gonna work compared to his setup. I believe in an enduro race it is gonna allow some welcomed things in a race that a lot of drivers would want to take advantage of realizing that, well your stuck with what you've got for the remainder, has happened a few times Im sure with many of us. Pit stops during this mandatory brings a lot of time to allow drivers to go in and make necessary changes to now be more competitive than they were prior to the caution. Now, I don't like mandatory cautions but I believe this would help bring the field back to racing in the second half of the enduro's and allow drivers to make changes to be more competitive.
We've tried that (mandatory caution) on another league, and the only thing that does,is, bunch up the field , does'nt realy change the issue of the race dough, guys who had made a gap and was fast, do the same thing for the rest of the race.

Hey Ed,
Quick question, what's the rule on possibly changing cars mid-season?

Hi Alfonso - I think we're going to have to discourage it.
We're preparing a decal-pack for the cars and the way iRacing uses decals is by linking the car and driver with a unique "car decal" file. So each time a driver changes cars, it means creating a new file, and deleting the old one. It's not a "crisis", but if we have several drivers doing this on a regular basis then it becomes very problematic.
So I would encourage drivers to look at the track selection and consider the strengths/weaknesses of the cars (more than just overall lap times).

hehe Ford GT3! While checking out broadcasters, I watched a GT3 race at Road Atlanta that featured a Ford having an epic battle with a Z4. It was the perfect rock-paper-scissors competition: where the Ford would lose time in the corners, but was un-catchable on the long straight. I'm looking forward to seeing what develops next season
