Thanks to everyone who joined us during our exhibition races - it's been great racing with you, and I appreciate your input. Here's where we are at so far on our schedule:
****November 7 - Star Mazda @ Mid Ohio, 13 drivers
****November 15 - GT3 @ Watkins Glen, 14 drivers
****November 22 - Daytona Prototypes @ Road America, 19 drivers
****November 29 - Thanksgiving break
****December 6 - DW-12 IndyCar @ Interlagos, 13 drivers
****December 13 - HPD-ARX (LMP2) @ Road Atlanta, 14 drivers
****December 20 - Holiday break and complete driver survey
****December 27 - League registration and promotion (fun race tie-in)
Now that we've had a chance to try many of the cars, I've posted this survey to get your feedback before we make a final decision on what kind of championship to host this coming January. Please select all the cars that you would be interested in racing during our inaugural Saturday night championship. The survey will close Friday night, December 19th at 8pm EST.
If we end up with any ties, I'll make the final decision using my judgement based on your comments and other factors such as any competing leagues at the same time slot, attendance, etc ... Finally, I still hope to host more fun-runs next year. So if we don't pick your favorite car, don't worry, we we will very likely revisit all of the cars that are eliminated during this survey.
In addition to the survey, please feel free to post any thoughts or opinions about what you liked or disliked about the cars or the formats we used during the exhibition races. For your reference, I've posted the proposed schedule and format below. Now's your time to voice your opinion!
A. Season 1 Proposed Schedule
I've tried to build in several breaks to acknowledge that many of us have other commitments on the weekends:
****January 3 - Practice/Qualifying for race #1 (Official Season Launch)
****January 10 - Race #1
****January 17 - Break
****January 24 - Race #2
****January 31 - Break
****February 7 - Race #3
****February 14 - Break (Valentine's Day)
****February 21 - Race #4
****February 28 - Break
****March 7 - Race #5
****March 14 - Break
****March 21 - Race #6 (Final Race)
****March 28 - Break (Driver/Team Reward and Recognition)
B. Race Format
The format is still TBD pending our decision to race open wheel cars or sports prototypes. At minimum we would adopt the following format regardless of car type:
****Fast Tows/Repairs - None
****Yellow Flags -Enabled at admin's discretion
****Weather - Pre-set by admin
Finally, thanks to everyone who has come out to support us during our fun-run schedule. Your input has been really helpful, plus racing with you all has been loads of fun.
Cheers!
