That has got to be the best racing I have had in a very long time! Not only wouldn't the mountain give me a break but Troy wouldn't give me a window to make a pass. If it wasn't for Ryan's damaged Ford I doubt I would have gotten by at all. Troy, I was so worried about hitting you! I can't put into words how nerve racking it was to behind you for that long.

This is why we can't have nice things!! Hehehe.... Missed that concentration thing again and let my mind wander. Luckily we were far enough into the race (L5) that a full tank would go the distance. Ran pretty good for the rest of the race. Started worrying about Tim around lap 15. I knew he was on better tires, so all I could do was minimize my mistakes. Did all I could to save my tires without slowing too much. 23 laps is a stretch for tires on this track.

Nice! I tried to stay close and follow you guys, but hit the wall. Good job on the 0 inc.
Quick question. If the guy behind you gets a good run because you blew the corner, do you still defend the inside?
In the long run it doesn't matter, but at the time it was a bit frustrating.

I hate this track.....Crashed on lap 4 and used my fast repair. Then crashed again around lap 10? in front of Marty. Towed back to the pits - 2:30 for mandatory repairs and car wasnt drivable at all.
Ill update danlisa tonight.

I'd been pressuring him up until the chase (backed off so we didn't go through 2 wide), then continued to pressure him through the following lap. Just another take on it Did he realize he cocked up the corner, saw you were coming up fast and moved off line to let you through? However at the same time you tried to go left and it just looked like he was blocking. He didn't go back when you went right and then passed him. edit, sorry, didnt pass him

Ill update danlisa tonight. I crashed on lap 1 right in front of you, luckily the car was driveable which lasted until I touched the wall in front of Mario and the engine blew up! 2nd time in 3 races!!!! towed back to the pits, good ole boys replaced the engine in 2 minutes(including tow time) came back out and promptly slid into the wall on the out lap!!!!! Drove back to the pits, drank some Fosters for 7 minutes and came back out to finish the race.

Quick question. If the guy behind you gets a good run because you blew the corner, do you still defend the inside? Nothing wrong with clean defending. The best thing to do is to move to a defensive line early and predictably. This particular move looks to have happened a bit late, but does not look like a block. I checked my replay and it looks like you both decided to move left within a fraction of a second of each other. Had he started moving half a second later in reaction to your move I would've classified it as blocking.

Even though I was really slow I'd say I still had a good race. Started 15th and had a pretty dicey first 5 laps. It was smooth sailing until the pit stop, then. A few laps after my pit I was greeted with a hard charging Val DiPietro. The last few laps I was driving like a madman to keep him at a safe distance and almost binned it 3 or 4 times, luckily for every mistake I made he made one as well and I came out ahead, finishing in 8th. Also, some pictures that are much to large to post here. imgur.com/a/BP3cC

Really an awesome race Tony. I think that is what you needed to keep it on the track. It really helps to keep your concentration when you are in such a close battle knowing that if you screw up, it will not only end your race, but someone else's as well. You really found your pace at the right time during the race. My qual setup was good, but I just couldn't get comfortable in my race setup, especially coming down the mountain which is where you picked up a lot of time on me. I had a feeling you would get by me eventually. I had already made up my mind that if you got along side, I wasn't going to fight too hard. You made the clean pass and then I just watched you pull away and there was nothing I could do about it. Keep it up. You have the skills, I believe sometimes you just over think it and then lose your concentration for a split second and that is all it takes. Race the track, hit your marks and the rest will take care of itself.

Quick question. If the guy behind you gets a good run because you blew the corner, do you still defend the inside? I wouldn't call it blocking since it was only one move to the inside to defend the line. It was also at nearly the same time you moved over to the inside, so I believe he had already planned to do it before he saw you move. Now if he had moved back to the right when you did, that would have definitely been blocking, but as it was, I would just call it running a defensive line.
