NQR has a team for the 24 but a couple of us are using the Roar as a bit of practice for driver swaps we are using the HPD I started 14 th of 15 HPDS, I think there were about 28 GT cars? ( just threw in a time not really caring about starting position)
first lap someone stuffed into the barrier at T1 and it made for a bit of clamatity, we all settled down and all was well lap 7 passed the first of the real slow GT cars Lap 12 we got into all the GT cars and from there to lap 20 or so it was very very busy things settled down again. pitted on lap 29, ran a few laps in the !:39's and most in the 1:40's except when in traffic, then it was anything from 141 to 145 second stint I stretched the fuel to 30 laps and ran out coming down pit road
We were in 6th place when Glenn took over after 59 laps

Here is a hot tip Tony. I have read on the forums about people running this race and their car overheating in the pits and the engine blowing up. If you have to leave the car in the pits for any length of time with nobody driving it, make sure you shut it off. The default for ignition is the "I" key. Also, make sure this is done after the pit service because when pit service is done, it will automatically start the car.

Thanks Troy, I relayed the message to Tony and we'll be sure to shut the car off

got up and did a couple more stints and moved up to 17th overall and 5th inclass. the leaders did 859 laps and beat the second LMP by 8 laps the GT cars were 78 laps behind the leader but both first and second were on the same lap after 24 hours My SR went through the roof as i managed only 15 incidents in about 285 laps driven ( 6 of those incidents in the first stint after i woke up) Had to wipe the sleep outta my eyes
My overall impression of the race was good but a couple of things need to be fixed. to keep interest in the race we need the option of long repairs if you do something stupid or if someone does stupid to you. 20 or 30 or 45 minutes, at least you stay in the game and your TEAM gets a chance to drive. There were a lot of disapointed people due to "too much damage"
the last chicane can be driven through and you can take you slow down in pit lane, a nasty way to gain a few seconds that was exploited by a couple of people
In the latter stages of the race with only 14 cars on track it gets boring and you get distracted. It really will help if you have someone to talk to once in a while

I noticed a lot of people running on the apron during practice. Was that still happening during the race?

it happened on lap one, the guy was called out and admonished by the whole field, and it never happened again to my knowledge

It gets me how many drivers I have seen do that just because the sim lets them. Guess they never learned what a yellow line means in drivers ed.
