I was wondering has anyone heard the news about Jules Bianchi, he died yesterday morning. Its a shame formula one have such a weak car otherwise he would most likely be alive, I honestly think they should have more protection or be completely collapsed until they do it, in V8 Supercars here in Australia there has only been 2 deaths which were Mark Porter and Ashley Cooper, and that was the old Holden VY chassis

Unfortunately, things were never going to end well for Jules, and all thoughts are with his family now. However, if you saw his accident, the injury was caused when his helmet hit the underside of the recovery vehicle, and had nothing to do with the strength of the car itself...just a freak accident. Much the same as Senna, where his only injury was from a broken suspension rod piercing his helmet. Both most unfortunate accidents. The most unfortunate thing resulting from Senna's death however, was what happened to the great tracks in the name of 'safety', stupid chicanes where they don't belong eliminating great fast corners(Imola, Barcelona, to name a couple). Senna would roll in his grave if he could see what happened to F-1 after he died.

Yes did I did hear about that, unfortunate.
little rant here, apologize in advance.
I am not a huge F1 advocate but to say that F1 cars are "weak" is a false statement and I can not ignore it. F1 cars have been pushing the leading edge of safety since Senna's death and many race series could learn a few things from the car design and from how the series handles safety. The fact that these cars are still open cockpit is a major flaw in their safety. But you can make an argument that all open cockpit cars have this inherent flaw. LMP cars are slowly moving toward closed cockpit, but what about Indycar, GP2, F3, Formula Renault, Formula Nippon, the list is almost endlist with all the single seater series that are run throughout the world. They all have this inherent flaw in their safety but to say that F1 cars are weak, I am sorry but that is a lie. Also you can not compare the safety in a F1 car to that of a V8 Supercar. Sorry two completely different cars. The only similarities between the two is that they both have 4 wheels, the front two are turned by a steering wheel and that the pedals that make the car move and stop are more or less the same. The rest of the car is completely different.
Rant over.
Now if you are just saying that F1 cars should be closed cockpit and we should stop racing them till they they make them so, then I can probably agree with you. But then what do we do with all the other series. To be perfectly safe is not achievable in motorsports unfortunately. Jules is not the last person to die in motorsports, he just so happened to do it on the worlds largest stage.
Sorry for the rant, I usually just sit back and keep my mouth shut but I had to voice my opinion on this one.

Fair enough, I think that race should have been stopped in that weather the amount of water around was ridiculous and I have heard people since say they think they are a disgrace for not stopping it at a safe time
