all in all it was a very fun race. car was a little tight but that can be fixed. And my favorite point was the first few laps when the top 3 were battling it out. and i still hate the grass in the braking points

hehe - very clean start indeed! Personally, the first 1/3 and last 1/3 of the race were the most exciting for me.
I was comfortably in 10th place by lap 4, but after around 10 minutes I had a spin under braking into T1 that slowed me down. The damage wasn't too bad, so I soldiered on until the 40 minute mark when I pitted. Since it's just a fun-run, I wanted to see if I could double-stint the tires, so I did fuel only, and came out just a few seconds behind James Mason. That setup the best 20 minutes of racing I've had in a while! From turns 3 to 16 I was all over James' BMW looking for a place to pass, but when we hit that back straight I could only just keep up with him, but not get enough of an advantage heading into turn 17.
On the white flag lap, I had another spin at T1 that ended my pursuit, but until then - it was a pure blast. Thanks for the great racing James!
On a tangent ... I was surprised to see the attrition during the race (almost 50%). I had set this race with a no-free-tow setting, but I'm wondering if I we need to have a free tow to keep things fun? I'll setup a survey in our news and general discussion forum and see what you guys want to do.

Not much practice but I entered anyway. I knew I could run in the 2s at least... good for mid-pack.
Start was good... settled in with a group of guys battling mid-pack. On L3, I clipped the curb exiting T4 which sent me into the wall. Gosh... that wasn't good. Drove around and got 9 minutes of repairs. Came back out for an extended test session and was able to pile on consistent 3s with still some residual front damage. Move to P8 due to other accidents and retirements, and was happy with my pace. Then, with about 20 to go, I had a big graphics glitch, which resulted in big accident causing 35 minutes or so of damage. Bummer.
Time to open up the case and do some spring cleaning. I checked my temps after the race and everything is running hot. Must get ventilation back! I'll have that done before our next race.
Thanks Ed and all for a fun night, my misadventures notwithstanding.
Rob

well that was a short race. started in the back, just trying to settle in for long haul. i remember seeing a ford gt? barrel rolling outside of turn 1 thinking glad thats not me! however lap 3 i caught the grass on turn 16 and boom, headon into the wall. major damage , i think motor blew and who knows what else. ended up with 40 min repair, so i signed off. thanks ed for putting this on. i had fun and hope to last longer in series. cheers bill

Too much repair to continue. Too bad, had a quick car, just gotta fix the loose nut behind the wheel!

Another great race I enjoyed racing with you guys. Right from the start, there was nice battles every where on the track. I really enjoyed trying to catch you Chris all that time until bad luck strike for you. I felt bad because I had the feeling we would battle like that all race long. I hope I was not putting to much pressure on you. Looking forward to next saturday!
