Hello everyone my name is Ken and I'm a V8SC n00bie.
I've spent little to no seat time in this tail happy beast until quite recently so I'm very wet around the ears so to speak.
I've been turning laps with one of your current GRAsim Members Anthony Mino and he thought this may be a good fit for me.
GT3 is where I've spent most of my time but after a disastrous season 1, 2015 I've had my fill of GT3 for a while. The driving there is just too over aggressive and careless even when in the top split. Last season I was hit from angles I didn't even know were angles and haven't seen that bad of driving since gridding in a very low SOF in Ruf Cup.
I'll come right out and say for the record that I am not a perfect driver either but I practice a lot and strive to continually improve. My main goal is to always drive clean and finish as strong as possible but never at the risk of screwing over another driver.
Outside of iRacing, I own/operate a small network of Websites, host and maintain websites for others as well as stream to Twitch and upload to YouTube.
I very much look forward to meeting and rubbing shoulders with you fine folks.
Warm regards,
Ken

Welcome Ken, sounds like you will be a good addition check the master car list for available numbers and join us through the iracing league function we have a fun race at long beach tonight Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I've already been accepted into the League I think Wednesday or so and posted my name, number, social security, blood sample and first born info in the GV8 2015 S2 Driver and Team Sign Ups Thread I won't make it tonight though as I don't own the track and even if I were to purchase it there wouldn't be enough time for me to get the required practice prior to gridding. I didn't know you actually had to pay for unfinished Tech Tracks

About time you posted, Ken! lol I'm surprised that you're not going to be racing tonight. Should I credit you $5 for the tech track? I actually need to sit down and put some seat time myself. It's been a long week, that's for sure.

It's been a long week, that's for sure. lol I don't know what you're referring to? Didn't you race twice before posting your obligatory hello message, hmmmmn? I can afford the track but I'm not sure if this is a good fit for me as it's going to be easy to make a horrible first impression. It's a tough track on its own accord but in this car it'll be a monster if you have no seat time which I don't have. I have no idea how the car feels on an empty tank and worn tires so I don't want my first race to be one where I take out half the field. ...or worse, the leader as he's lapping me

there are lots of places to let faster cars through at long beach , its actually very wide in most places brake early and accelerate softly , the concrete is slippery
it is actually a fun track to run on

Honestly I appreciate the input on this weeks race guys but I just don't have any seat time in this car. In driving the McLaren for a few seasons I'm very familiar with a car that does what it wants to do sometimes and I'm accustomed to it.
Even though I know the V8 is incredibly savable (prior to update anyway) I'm still unsure? I know the confidence level isn't there yet and for me that's a pretty big deal.
I'll give it some more thought and probably try to turn some laps tonight after work. If I can make my way around the track for 5 or 10 laps without ending in a heap of twisted metal, body parts and feces I may decide to grid after all.
No promises at this point though.

He won't believe me but he's a very competent driver but he likes to play a little too humble. He'll get up to speed by the end of S2.

Wasn't too competent tonight lol but I did give it the old college try in Practice.
I was just too out of control and couldn't put together more than 3 laps without hitting something.

So Ken, you up for the Sebring 12 hr? Hi Pete, I'm probably going to pass on the Sebring 12 hr to be honest. If I was part of a Team that actually entered this event I'd want to stay the duration (if possible) for moral support as well as my turn in driving. The problem is that even scraping together 3 or 4 hours in a row these days is pretty tough for me. One of my Community Members is looking for a driver my guess is in the Ford. I can probably hook you two up if you're interested?

Welcome to the league Ken! I'm relatively new here too, but I can vouch that this is a great community of racers.
If you ever feel like scratching the "GT3 itch" again, we're in the process of launching a GT3 series on Saturday nights. We've got a GRAsim members-only event on Saturday night at Sebring so much of the riff-raff will be locked out. If you're free, the details are in the GSC section of our forums.

Thanks Eduardo I'll certainly look into it. To be completely honest though I'm still very much on the fence with what to do outside of V8's? I've had a number of iRacers approach me about creating my own League via my Gaming Community but nothing has been firmed up at this time. I may look to take some of these underutilized cars such as the Corvette, KIA and perhaps the Cadillac and throw them in a League together, not sure? Ultimately however I'd love a doctored Pirelli'ish World Challenge Series where the Cadillac, Ruf, Corvette, BMW, and McLaren are all nerfed or buffed to compete equally.
