Should be no problem with updating iRacing now. I did my update last night after they announced the removal of the suspicious file and I had no problems at all.
I didn't try the V8 at all, but I did try the DW-12 on the Monza oval as well. I took the Texas oval setup, set all the aero adjustments to their minimum, and was able to get 238 mph at the end of the front straight. Can't remember my lap times.
I also played around with the Mazda MX5 Cup car at USA oval. There is going to be a hosted race there this weekend. Details in the iRacing Advanced Mazda Cup section of the forum.

I'm a bit bummed the cones look the same for me with full minimum settings lol. I'm thinking the pretty new cones are a smoke screen for some devious behind the scenes testing for a future update. We are just being used as guinee pigs and they are using the cones as a diversion!

Monza is cool, but I may be the minority, the GP layout is boring. The oval on the other hand is Darlington mixed with Talladega and I can only see disaster on this layout . I took the DW12 around it with the Texas oval setup and it was pretty neat. The changes to the V8 are not that noticeable. Your ride heights will be way to high, but I set the rake back to where I normally had it and took a few laps around Monza and it drove pretty much like it did before. Glad they left the tires alone. That's good to read ... I was curious to see how much a change we should expect with the setups that are currently available. It sounds like we don't have to toss it all out and start over again - cool!
