3 day iracing convention going on in texas right now
some tidbits Multi groove and dynamic track surface is coming soon - Possibly June build!
Daytona 500 crash had nothing to do with the Daytona 500 - "issue was a hosted race going on at the same time with abnormal amount of admins doing weird things to the race at the same time."
Entirely new interface coming "soon" separating the website from the sim, making the sim handle more and avoiding the website from handling load. Possibly "Steam" like?
Todd Bettenhausen wrote: June for that stuff does seem a bit optimistic.
It has been a long term project for some time. New suspension model coming and Cater was allowed to discuss it in detail. Part of that is in prep for multi groove/dynamic surface.

Great info Tony,
"Multi groove and dynamic track surface is coming soon" This will be a huge improvement, especially for oval racing. I'm hoping day/night transitions will be soon after.

Good stuff, but nothing I really wanted or care about, so it is what is. If you can't have changeable weather during and event, or day night transitions there is no point in doing a dynamic track, just my opinion.

in any discussion i have had there has been no inclination to go there. for leagues, the option is open, i don't think you will ever see it in open sessions

You can ballast by car, but any word on individual ballast?

never heard of it In all seriousness, why? just another reason for people to sandbag. Its time for people to step up and accept that others may be faster then them, if so, do what you need to to get faster Really tired of the people are faster then me so penalize them threads (no offence Joe, but its a recipe for disaster in official and league racing) ....

Like in the BTCC. Individual ballast for race winners to be assessed during the next race. Right now I can add weight to the MX to slow it down and match the Solstice, but I can't ballast you for winning last race. I believe the BTCC ballasts the top three drivers, or maybe it is five, I forget now.

It is a real thing though. It is how the BTCC really runs things.

The BTCC adds weight to drivers based on the previous race and they invert the grid in race three based on a random number draw. It must be a British thing..... lol.

Tony, you were there? I missed wed, but was there thurs and friday. Guess I need to pay more attention to things. If I saw the name I think I would have put 2 and 2 together and introduced myself. I was the guy smack in the middle of the room with a 3 monitor setup facing backwards! lol. Got wrecked out of the Star Mazda race at Spa, but managed a 3rd in the DW12 at Watkins Glen Friday night.

I officially know nothing! I did hear rumors that certain people got to turn a few laps at Monza, and Monza is complete, just awaiting the new build. I was led to believe that the new build won't require a complete reworking of our setups, only adjusting ride heights. But then again, I OFFICIALLY KNOW NOTHING! (actually I really don't know much of anything else, I missed the good stuff! lol).
