This sounds really silly but I thought I would bring it up. Also, when you are reading this keep in mind that I've spent the better part of 20 years playing baseball at a variety of levels, so don't judge me too hard. lol
I started to notice last week that driving the V8 is aggravating my right wrist--just above the thumb--and the cause is clearly up shifting (I'm using the paddles on my G27). Now I have been iRacing for nearly two years (my two year anniversary is in March) and this has never happened to me before. I'm just curious to see if this is something anybody else has encountered as well? I can tell it'll pass but damn it's a bit bothersome right now.

not unusual at all, i occassionally get these as well, more so from my left knee as my csts are very very stiff, I have been on an elipictal now for the past 3 weeks about 30-35 minutes a day and its helping, at my age I need to exersice more anyways. I am motivated to continue iracing so if i have to excersice then so be it

Well now that we brought up fitness, I was thinking about how fit real drivers are and thinking I should get my but off the couch and do something. I know its just a game, but you do work up a sweet and I know over a long run I am mentally drained and to hot and sweating on top of that I will loose concentration.
But anyway back to your question Tony. I have experienced swore wrists as well after some races. I am not sure if its my grip on the wheel or just general fatigue. Mine usually hurt more in the middle of my wrist. I would try different wheel positions, also maybe trying to relax your grip some, not sure if that helps but just throwing ideas out there.

I also experience that too few years ago to a point where I had difficulties to race. I was racing a lot more at that time so I reduce tremendously the level of force feedback of my wheel for several weeks and slowly increase it but far from what it was originally.
I guess it all depends of how much time you spend behind the wheel, how much FFB level and also your grip as Greg mentioned.

Meh.... After a long race I generally have aches and pains in both knees and my right shoulder... Tells me I'm getting old. My knees are expected after 20+ years of what most would consider extreme skiing. My shoulder is new though (within the last year) and I believe is triggered by tension during the race. I haven't experienced any hand or wrist issues yet though.
LOL You should have seen me after completing a "50 Laps of Nurburgring" challenge I did in Forza 3. I could barely get out of my chair.

No thank you, I like that track, but there is only one or two spots where you can relax and breath so anything over 3 or 4 laps I am done. I always avoided the longer races in Forza and Gran Turismo.

I have had various aches and pains over the years from sim racing. I used to get a really sore neck from racing which I found to be mostly from tension I had during the race. I also used to get very sore hands which I found was from gripping the steering wheel to hard. I have since learned to relax and that has gone away.
Another thing that helped my comfort was when I bought a racing rig. There are many good ones available at all different price ranges. I have the rSeat EV0-V3 and it is nice to have everything locked in solid so nothing moves. This allows me to relax even more.
Lately I have noticed some sore arms and shoulders after our races. Nothing bad, just a byproduct of fighting the V8 Supercar around the track for an hour racing plus the hour or more of practice and qualifying.
I just accept it as part of getting old. I hit the half century mark last month.

i normally have my knees and my tail bone aching when i get done racing. In the 2.4, I was trying to straighten my legs out on the oval part.
