It sounds like you guys are driving with them quite a bit. You still using them? I'm just curious to know what you thought about using it in iracing , now that you've got some time with it. I tried disabling the vertical axis and driving, maybe I could get used to that. I would have to spend some time with it.

I was given a profile that has a lot less vertical sensativity and I'm loving it. When I get home tomorrow morning I'll put a dropbox link of the profile and you can try it too.

I managed to set up my TrackIR last night after the Friday night race and after some tweaking I managed to get something that didn't cause my head to spin! Matt, I think you might find this video a little interesting. Okay, I've obviously missed something somewhere. How do you get the iRacing boxes moved like that? Can any of the info stuff be moved and how?

Jim, press alt-k and move the boxes around the screen with the mouse and press alt-k again to set them.

TrackIR ProfileThat's the TrackIR profile that I'm using. I really like how it limits vertical movement and allows for a bit more horizontal movement. I'm still using the same speed and smoothness settings of .2 speed and 10 smoothness.

No problem! Let me know how you like it and if you do then I'll be sure to send the compliments back to the creator of the profile.

I tried that profile Tony, but that is still just too much movement for me in a race sim. When I looked from side to side, It seemed like the front of the car was rotating, and my face was stationary. I'm sure it's just me, I don't think I can get used to that. I did try setting it up with the vertical and the side to side (rotate?) disabled. What that did was let me lean my head left and right, move it forward and back, and up and down. I kind of liked that. It let me lean over to get a very wide field of view out of the side mirrors. I know in most of today's racing cockpits that would not be possible because of HANS device and molded seats and such, but still the same it felt very natural. We give up so much of our senses being in a virtual cockpit, so cheating realism just a little bit seems worth it. I could also kind of "lean" into the corners by tilting my head side to side. Another benefit I noticed is that by sitting up and leaning forward a bit, I could tell if I had any front wing damage on my DW 12, something we could suspect but usually would have to get another driver to confirm for you while pacing. I think I might run it like this for a bit. I would upload the profile, but haven't learned how to here yet. I'm sure you can easily set yours up the same way if you want to try it.

I would also take a look at the "smooth" profile as well. It took me a few days to get things where I wanted them and a few more to actually get used to the TrackIR. You'll get it to the way you like it in no time.

I know I'm late to the party on this one but I've been using Track IR for years now and it's absolutely the best for a single monitor setup. It's not just iRacing but if you play anything from the ArmA Series, Flight Sims (such as DCS), Elite: Dangerous, etc., there's nothing better.
What makes it so great is the high amount of sensitivity you can either add or tune out of game specific profiles. For iRacing I have all sensitivity disabled except for Y Axis and a very slight amount of Yaw. From a drivers standpoint the Yaw ads nothing really but for my Twitch and YouTube viewers it adds an extra layer of immersion they like to see.
If anyone needs profile help I'm more than willing to host my iRacing Profile and help you tune it to better suit your needs.
The one thing I will say though is that it's something you have to get used to. If you've not used it in iRacing then it will take some time to acclimate. Trust me on this, stick with it because you will grow to love it.
I can't speak for how it works with triples as I don't have them setup and likely never will until such time as a 24" x 72" concave solution is available.

I've been using the TIR for couple of years now too, but I can't get used to it in anything but flight sims. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. Ken, this?
