Is anybody in the league using TrackIR?

I'm pretty sure Greg has mentioned using it before.

I have the Trackir 5 with the Trackclip Pro. I really like it but I haven't got used it in iRacing. I play another driving sim that has really poor 3 monitor support so I run it one 1 monitor with Trackir. I would recommend it if you thought about getting one.

Greg,
I have one on the way (it might arrive today). I've seen some videos of guys using TrackIR, and my buddy swears by his, so I thought I would give it a shot. I've wanted one for a while now and the fact that it'll work with some of the games that I play is nothing but a plus. I heard that most people disable the vertical movement and only allow for horizontal movement. Does that sound normal to you or do you just let it do its thing all the time when using it?

I just set the profile to "smooth" and let it do what it wants. You do have to re center it every once in a while by hitting f12. I guess if you disable the vertical and just did horizontal you probably don't have to recenter it as much if at all. It works really well in other sims, like Train sims, Flight sims, or other driving sims. I play Euro Truck Sim (well used to, waiting for a big update then I will get back into it) and that's what I use the Trackir mostly one. But it does work well in Pcars, and rFactor.

Good to know, thanks! Tim was telling me that he loves using his TrackIR in DayZ, so I'm interested in giving it a try there too.

I haven't tried it yet in any fps games but I would still try the smooth profile and see how you like it. The default one has dead zones and its kind of annoying. I think it would be pretty cool none the less

wow this looks pretty cool, might have to buy it soon I can't lie...I'm really excited to give it a shot. Also there is a video I saw nearly two years ago and it's amazing what the video editor did with TrackIR and how "real" it looks. It would be cool to do something like this too.

I think I am going to give the trackir a try again during the Saturday fun race. I will be in the HPD so there is more to "see" then in the V8

I have TrackIR-5 with the track clip pro. I tried it in iracing, but was a little hard to judge corners correctly. I have to admit I didn't give it much time for me to get used to. I thought about disabling the vertical movement and trying it, but haven't tried it yet. I bought mine for flight simulators, and I think it's the best add-on I've ever had. Couldn't imagine flying without it.

It does help a little, but the standard clip with the reflectors works very well. I think it says the best results are obtained when you are 2 ft away from the trackir device, but I sit closer and run 3 monitors so I couldn't arrange it to the side to get the 2 ft. The track clip pro mounts on the side of your headset, as opposed to fastening to a ball cap like the reflector clip. Handy if you use a headset, which I do.
