Sorry, but rFactor has been pretty much dead to me since I started iRacing.

Although I've never raced rFactor 2 I have watched some videos and broadcasts of rFactor 2 and from what I can tell it's mostly mod based, right?

Although I've never raced rFactor 2 I have watched some videos and broadcasts of rFactor 2 and from what I can tell it's mostly mod based, right? rFactor 2 has more cars and tracks available then rFactor 1 ever did, but yes the modding community is what made rFactor popular. That's why I played rFactor so much was because it was a F1, V8 Supercars, CORR off road truck, GT Legends, ALMS or whatever game you wanted it to be all in one. True it wasn't on the cutting edge as iRacing goes as far as physics but it was always nice have a stress free race against the computer.

I like playing rfactor because you can run any series without a rating, I run the development series, the v8 utes and the V8 supercars mainly

My Son downloaded and installed this tonight. Amazing collection of GT and Prototype cars from somewhere around late 70's through the 80's. The stuff I watched on TV when I was a kid (in those rare cases when it was on). I'll be playing it this weekend. Really cool for old people anyway.

Not sure what mod you downloaded Glen but if it has a Porsche 917 it is a beast. Fortunately I have seen one at the vintage race at Watkins, sad tho because I only saw it during the parade and I wasn't able to come back to the track the following day. I will be reinstalling rFactor Friday, i see the GTPC mod is out!

Yep, the the GTPC mod, the one they've been working on for 8 years or something. My Son and I spend 3 days each year at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca. We know the Porsche 917 well There's usually a couple of the old blue/orange Gulf versions there. Awesome stuff. I think rFactor 2 has this one? I seem to remember driving it briefly and didn't like the physics. I have not personally tried it on rFactor 1 yet.

Can you get rFactor to play? The key has nothing to do with mods. So if you can play the normal game, your key works. I believe all the wet weather mods are track specific. So if you want a wet race at say Spa, you would have to download the "Wet Spa" track.

no the weather version of rfactor says it needs dx9### cant remember the last few letters and says I have to reinstall the weather version of rfactor so I play the normal version. I want the rain so I can use it in the V8s because that's the only season I run is the utes Dunlop series and V8s

Hmmm, not sure. I didn't think rFactor supported weather. Looks like there is a way to do it now but I have no idea how it works sorry.
