Guys,
I'm going to be taking a break from iRacing due to some personal issues dealing with my living situation. The long story short is that for the last seven years I've been working as a live-in caregiver for my Grandmother. She is suffering from Alzheimer's and about six weeks ago or so she started to exhibit new behaviors that has my family worried and we have started to look for a care facility for her. However, the wound that has cut me the deepest and that has caused me to go through a bit of an emotional roller coaster is that nearly a month ago my Grandmother could no longer remember who I was. She thinks of me as a stranger now and worst yet she looks at me suspiciously and threatens to call the police to remove me. Thankfully her threats are hollow as she couldn't figure out how to work a phone if she wanted to call the police in the first place. That being said, I've been angry, depressed, frustrated, etc for a while now. I noticed a change in my personality around Week 12 last season and it wasn't until yesterday that I began to realize that I'm going through something that I need to workout.
Although I didn't say it in the video (which I meant to but I forgot as I was recording) is that I owe an apology to the Band of Other's crew and to the league as a whole. My outburst on track last week at Sebring was a symptom of what I'm going through. So I apologize for that. Also to Ryan for bailing mid-season like I am. I think he knew it was coming but he didn't know the extent of what I have been dealing with.

Tony, i can certainly appreciate what you are going through, my mother suffers from the same disease, she just hasn't progressed to the point where she doesnt recognize it although in the past couple of weeks i think its only my voice that triggers the recognition. Placing a loved one is a very difficult choice, I had to do so first with my father and then with my mother. your feelings are normal, take whatever break you need, the league will be here for you when you are ready to return If you ever wish to speak shoot me a PM.

I appreciate it, Tony. I know that I have been trying to maintain some semblance of a normal life but things have gotten so tough lately that I just reached my breaking point. I think making this video has helped me to shed some of those feelings but more importantly it helped me to realize what I was doing and how I was feeling. I'm good about bouncing back soon, but I'm not sure when I will be back as of yet because we are unsure how long the process of finding a care facility will take.

I feel for you Tony, my Dad, 3 uncles and an aunt have Alzheimers. Although Dad hasn't progressed that far yet, it's moving quickly and I fear it won't be long before he has trouble remembering who we are. This is a terrible disease in that it is hardest on the family and caregivers, I know I'm feeling the effects of frustration and helplessness. If you need to talk to anyone you can PM me anytime. Keep your head up!
