Did iRacing change the field size for official races again? I know last season they dropped it down to 6 in the low participation series including V8SC to have more races go official. But I see the 0:15 GMT/8:15 EDT V8SC race had 6 drivers and was not official. I never saw any announcement on this. I liked the 6 car limit because it made it easier to get an official race for participation credits.
Edit: I think whoever was in that race last night including Tony Kloosterman and Tony Mino messed up. It should have been an official race. On Wednesday morning at 8:15 am GMT/4:15 am EDT there was a race with 6 drivers that was official. The difference is that those drivers actually completed the race. In the race last night, the drivers there either didn't want to race or didn't know that the race was official so they all dropped out early. For a race to be official, the leader has to complete at least half of the required laps. If anyone would have stayed in that race and did at least 19 laps, they could have scored a bunch of iRating and got an official race win.
Here is the way to know for sure if a race is official before you enter. Once the timer counts down to zero, look at the gray button under the green Join button. If that button says Forfeit, it is an official race. If that button says Withdraw, then the race is not official.
Here are the series that I can confirm only need 6 drivers to be official:
iRacing Corvette Challenge
iRacing Production Car Challenge MC
iRacing V8 Supercar Series
Ruf Cup
Skip Barber Race Series
Star Mazda Championship
I know the Advanced Mazda MX5 Cup Series only needed 6 last season, but I can't confirm for this season because there were no races with 6 this week. I also believe the Radical Racing Challenge C needs only 6, but can't confirm yet either.
