had a conversation with iracing and they have decided to remove the sessions in advance on the calender. this means we will not know what it is till monday at 7pm when the new week launches. I have written Tony Gardner to advocate a change but no luck so far

That is just nuts. At least we still have Monday night and Tuesday to practice with the right weather.

yes they did but its not a good one, Tony and I have exchanged a few emails, he acknowledges i bring up some good points on why we should keep it but has not yet said they would put it back.
My points 1. we use sunday official practice to gather new recruits for our league (hosted events=revenue for iracing) 2. we preplan our hosting sometimes weeks in advance and need to know the weather in order to host ( revenue for iracing) 3. racers who do sof and league races at the end of the week get the benefit of racing with offical weather for 2-5 days prior while we get less then 24 hours
feel free to express your frustration on the iracing forum, i have a post in general

I personally am ok with not knowing the weather weeks in advance from realism aspect, but we should know it at least 2 days prior, or for practicality, one week in advance. I believe their original plan was not to display weather so far in advance.

I'm sure they will also get a lot of complaints from the oval community on this. I know the IndyCar oval community for sure will have a problem with this. They do their SOF as the first race of the week on Monday night. This is to give everyone only one chance to qualify. They will normally start working on the next week's setup on Tuesday. It will be very hard for them to tweak it properly without the right weather. The difference between pole position and 10th place on the grid can sometimes be less than .01 second. And weather can make a difference of several tenths of a second.
