Congrats Troy! Well deserved win. And great job rounding out the podium to Tony and Issac!
And nice job to everyone else. I heard SORRY a couple times on the radio, but that was always followed by No Problem...

Would of been a lot of fun had I not gotten slightly angry right before my pit stop, but I guess that's racing....

A great race. My first time back in the car since last Season at Sonoma about 1 1/2 months ago.
I didn't want to practice at all until all the updates were done for the new season. I knew there was something wrong when they were saying on the forums they had to lower the ride heights to get the setups to pass tech after last weeks update. Every other car needed to raise the ride heights. Finally they figured it out and put a fix in Monday. I still waited to see if some setups showed up on the forums. I found one yesterday and when I got home from work, I loaded it up and everything was working fine.
I knew I would need some extra practice, so I put up the hosted session. We could have just practiced in the official sessions, but I felt it would be better if we could all join one session and stay there until the league server went live.
It paid off because by the time we got to qualify, I was really feeling comfortable in the car and felt my pace was decent. I gridded right where I thought I should and had a great start. Then I just settled in and tried to run some consistent laps. Just a few laps in Glenn and Tony K. spun which put me in 2nd place. I guess the pressure got to me because on lap 7 I went off track in turn 6 and fell back to 6th. Didn't hit anything though, so I kept on driving.
I was working my way back towards the front and caught up to Dries a few laps before the pit stop. We pitted at the same time, but he took a lot more fuel, so I was able to get a good lead on him when we left the pits. Then I was just running laps waiting for others to pit so I could move back up. I made my way back to 2nd, but knew there was no way I could catch Brian. He had a big lead of over 20 seconds and was running great laps.
I was shocked when I saw his car stuck in the wall at the end of turn 3. Turned out to be a mechanical failure, his throttle stuck on. I hate to see someone have problems like that, especially when leading, but anything can happen in a race. That put me in a position I have never been before in this series, leading a race. So I just concentrated on running clean laps and finished the race. Great start to the new season.
And congratulations to my new team mate Tony Mino on his second place finish and Isaac de Figueiredo for rounding out the podium.

What a way to kick off S2 of 2015! That was some intense racing throughout the entire race and I can't tip my hat enough to Val and to Isaac for such a good race. If I gave either of you a scare it's because I'm still trying to get comfortable on this track, so sorry about that. Congrats to Troy for the win and Isaac for the 3rd place finish. Here is a shot of Val and I around mid race.

One of those sorrys was undoubtedly mine. I must have caught a bump wrong while on the brakes charging down the hill to 5A and lost the rear on a downshift, caught the grass, and hit someone on the way to the sand trap. Didn't appear to do much damage to him or I thankfully. A tense race for sure! Spent more than half of it nose to tale with another car. But once I finally passed, I lost my rhythm and made some unforced mistakes. And then to top it all off, after the leaders had some issues, I was on the podium! Until I spun on the front straight and punctured an oil line making me hit the pits one more time for a pretty fast repair. I feel fortunate to finish where I did, dissapointed I didn't finish where I could have. But still, any experience is good experience. ( Some one else put in the time for that paint. I just made it green. )
