Maybe some of you guys have noticed that I've been a little MIA around the forum and on track these last few weeks, and that's because I've been busy working on gathering my Thesis Committee and writing my Thesis Proposal. I pretty much say the same thing in this video but it's a lot more interesting to hear with some racing in the background.
Also, I had said in the video that I'm looking forward to this week at VIR, and although that is true...what I forgot while I was recording is that I'm committed to attending a WWII veterans panel on campus tomorrow night, so I won't make the league's race but I'll be around for the official races this week.

Looked like a tough field there Tony. Matt's move was pretty poor and way to aggressive. Good luck with your thesis.

My proposed thesis is (hopefully) going to be about the historical representation of World War II in video games. This will include a history of technology and video games starting in 1980 and it will culminate with how Japanese publishers lost control of the international video game market to US (or Western) developers in the late 1990s. Then I plan to look at how the historical representation of WWII in video games has been shaped by the Post 9/11 period, and how--or to what degree--historically themed video games have an impact upon how history is consumed and understood by those who play them. That's kind of it in a nutshell at the moment. I've been reminded by my peers that my proposal will ultimately look nothing like my thesis because my thesis committee will dictate to me at my proposal defense which parts they feel I should focus my efforts on.
