That was my old processor . I had a gigabyte board and I just used the stock overclock settings. I know there was a 5%, 10%, and 15% I ran it at 10% with the H100 turned down as low as it would go and I never had a problem. Not sure what the 10% overclock actually came out to though.

Small world. I run a Gigabyte board very similar to that (don't remember the exact board) with an FX-8350. Although I haven't messed with overclocking the CPU or GPU.

the FX series CPU love to be overclocked. There was a forum I read last night that a guy using a 8350 was at 5.0ghz stable, crazy!

hmmm... I had no idea. Of course this PC is my first build rather than just buying something off the shelf. I haven't messed with overclocking as I don't know if it'd make a difference with what I do on my PC.

It might for iracing Jason, since AMDs chips are good but not great at single thread applications (like iRacing) so any help you can give them the better. iRacing is a game that is more CPU intensive then most. I think its because it is still on Direct X 9 and most if not all new games are on Direct X 11. Going from a overclocked FX 8320 to slower over clock speed i7 4770k, the Intel actually does a better job with iRacing, and uses less power. Now if you run a single screen, and have a decent video card you should be able to run almost max settings without a problem with a AMD chip.

My single screen with my gtx970 and AMD chip ran great maxed out before I overclocked them both.

I didn't realize that iracing still used single thread. That might help explain why iracing was not smooth at all in windowed mode.
My 4gb GTX760 has done fairly well so far (with 3 Acer 21" monitors), although I did have to tweak some settings to keep FPS acceptable when capturing.

Well i hate my mobo!!!! After doing some research to figure out my prob, looks like ill be buying a new mobo. So the version 3 is known to overheat the VRM so cant overclock at all with out having CPU throttling, which was causing my issues.

Just received an email that Derek Speares Designs are making another batch of their pedals soon, should receive an email sometime within the next week or so to order them. May have to take the plunge on those, probably won't make ME any faster but I'll look cool as anything at the back. www.derekspearedesigns.com/pedals.html
