It's on my Son's B-day list so I'll get to try it out soon. How are the physics and ffb? I'm hearing it's pretty good, or at least better than expected.

I got it early on when they where just starting. The finished product is quite good and like any new sim/game needs to be tweaked to your liking. It is nice to have something that simulates the entire environment, day, night transitions and all types of weather. I like it, YMMV :-)

It's on my Son's B-day list so I'll get to try it out soon. How are the physics and ffb? I'm hearing it's pretty good, or at least better than expected. I've dubbed Project Cars as a "simcade." It fits beautifully in between a true racing simulator and an arcade game like Forza or Gran Turismo. That being said the physics are rather good but the cars are incredibly forgiving. You really have to mess up to get the car to a point where it's uncontrollable. The AI is the worst part of the game at this point. It's way over aggressive and doesn't take into account the player's position until you are right along side them, at which point they'll dart to the side to avoid any potential contact. I've had my fair share of AI dive bombs already. As for the FFB, I haven't done much to it to be honest. I've tweaked it here and there but I'm happy out of the box. I've heard that people who have Fanatec wheels have to do a bit more adjusting than those of us with G27s due to the FFB being so intense with the Fanatec wheels. Oh! Also, if you have a mixed wheel and pedal set up--like I have--then you need to configure the wheel and bind the throttle, brake and clutch as if it was a keyboard. It'll recognize the pedals but so far Project Cars only allows the simple configuration of your hardware in pairs. So it doesn't do mixed and matched hardware well. As far as expectations...I didn't really follow the development of the game. I heard about it and I heard it was supposed to be good (I saw a few screen shots and damage modeling videos) but I didn't have high expectations going in, so I can't really say if it lives up to the hype. All I can say is that I'm really enjoying the game. If we have enough members who get it then it could be fun to do a Project Cars fun night. I know Ken has tossed the idea out to me for his gaming community. I thought it would be fun to get the league together for a bit of fun as well. Shameless YouTube plug. In this video I talked about TrackIR, the AI, the in-game weather and off-tracks.

Looks like the game, and especially the Clio, are a blast The slower cars make for some good fun racing.

I've got pCars and I think the final product is quite good... physics, graphics, gameplay all seem impressive. I use G27 and Clubsport v2 pedals with no issues. The transition from day to night is really cool, LeMans and the Nordschleife are crazy at night! Could be great for a fun race.

I have the game, but haven't spent much time with it yet. I have a Fanatec wheel and I haven't got the FFB dialed in yet. I don't feel like I'm connected to the car yet. Kind of a floaty feeling. I'm told it is all in the settings as others with Fanatec wheels say it is great. I just haven't tweaked the right settings yet.
It also doesn't help that I have an AMD video car with triples. There is a known issue that AMD and Slightly Mad Studios are working on to get frame rates up. That might also be exaggerating the floaty feeling. I am going to wait until the video issues get sorted before I try again.

Depending on your early subscription package, you will get a discount.
In my case I got a 50% discount when I got the final version yesterday thru steam.

Ok thanks Mario, I haven't looked to see if I got a discount or not. I am a team member so guessing there is a discount.

Hi gents - a few of us were chatting last night about running a couple exhibition events on Saturday nights now that we've concluded our GT3 championship. I don't plan to restart our series until late August or early September, so it would be a great time to host a few races and see how league-friendly Project Cars is (I'll also host a few iRacing events as usual too).
I'll check the calendar out this week and propose a few dates.

((Looks great Greg!!)) Sorry for the delay in following up guys - just a busy week at work and I didn't have a chance to mess with ProjectCars until yesterday. I picked up the game for $37 bucks during Steam's Summer sale (going on for the next 10 days or so). My impression is the same all of yours -- it's good fun, it won't replace iRacing in the short term, but it's excels with GTR2, Rfactor or the Race07/On series if they're still installed on your machine. I think however, I'm going to have to pass the torch onto someone else to admin this. From my understanding, races are hosted locally (i.e. on your machine) and advertised on the steam/project cars server list. Once again, it's similar to GTR2 and Race07/On in this regard. I looked into hosting a dedicated server (there's an app for that on Steam you can download), but my connection has been pretty crappy the last several months to the extent that it would be a bad idea for me to host these. If this becomes a permanent fixture here, we may want to look into collection donations so we can get some time on pro-level server with a good upload/download. (Here's the link to the dedicated server setup FAQ: forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22370-Dedicated-Server-HowTo-%28Work-in-Progress%29) So ... is anyone interested in leading the charge on this? Of course, I'd be happy to give up my Saturday nights and help with the admin (e.g. scoring, posting on the forums, etc...)?
