I have NO idea what could contribute to the large amounts of black cars. Nice screens. Do you adjust graphics quality to take the screens? I actually don't do anything different for taking screenshots. My replay graphics are always maxed out since I'm not worried about running into the back of a car when I'm recording a replay. Other than that Action takes care of the rest. I do, however, want to try that "ultra high" resolution trick that I've read about on the forums though.

The first one looks good just wondering because the second one seemed a bit lower res as far as the road texture. But it could be because of the blurring / focus that made it look this way.

That's because for the first one I set the aperture to f/32 and for the second one I had it set to f/8.

Just saying the effect in-game almost makes it looks as if it is low res, which is a bit strange. For example, here's a somewhat decent example of a screen I took for a paint I did, then added the effects like blurring after in Photoshop. Note that I really didn't spend long on this, so it isn't like it is perfect or I intended it to be. You can see the ground around is blurred, especially over to the sides, but it still doesn't look as low res. But maybe it is also your angle.

Replay has separate graphics settings from in-car. Oops, didn't see other posts.
Replay does offer DoF (depth of field) option which blurrs everything that's not focused. Smaller the f-stop, smaller the DoF, blurrief the closer/farther stuff is.

Tonight's race was so much better than Thursday night's race for me. I opted to try the 3.25 gear on Thursday and that didn't out so well for me, so I returned to the 3.15s. I had a few close laps with Tony, which was exciting! I hope I didn't throw you off because I saw you get loose coming out of that third chicane. This was my first fuel save race and I have to say that it added a nice wrinkle into the mix. I honestly felt as if it helped to compress the field since everybody couldn't run balls to the walls the entire race. I liked it and I kind of hope they do it again in the future. Here is a screenshot from early in the race.

this race was a disaster from the time i put on my headset, qualified 1.5 seconds off the time i can run consistently race start was a bit messy and i tapped Paull Slavonik which really bothered me and i was a mess after that, i ended up barrel rolling out of the exit of parabolica on to road atlanta

Just saying that the option had, in my opinion, the strange side effect of making the pavement look low res.
