Thanks guys - I appreciate the feedback. The pre-race notes for round #1 have been updated to refer to 1 free tow, and I won't add any last-minute changes to the series rules to accommodate "penalty/incident" points. However, I'm going to consider changing the venue for our final round (currently Spa) to either Daytona or Bathurst. I'm sure you'll all agree that both are terrific tracks that offer great racing opportunities. As Glenn said, let just get the season started See you guys Thursday night for practice #1.

I voiced my opinions before asking for penalties, but I have changed my mind about it. I don't believe there should be any penalties in this league where we are advertised as beginner friendly. I know we aren't all beginners, but we should keep the league friendly for anyone who wishes to join unless they prove to be a dirty or over aggressive wreck causing driver.
I do like the incentive angle though. Give bonus points or have a separate award for the safest driver each week and season.
As far as Spa is concerned. I am in another league which runs a GT3 series on Sundays. They have an incident cap for their races. The week they ran at Spa, the admin removed the incident cap because he said he wanted to run Spa the way it was intended. It kind of backfired. Some of the guys went crazy during the race and were running off the track every chance they had. But the leaders kept it on the track. The top 4 drivers had a total of 10 incidents between all of them. I finished 3rd with 2 incidents. Some of the back markers had over 30 incidents. You don't need to go off track to run fast at Spa.
In summary, my opinion is no incident cap and no penalties for incidents. Keep 1 fast repair per race. Award the safest driver or drivers with something.
